El Salvadorian designer, Sofia Avila earned a degree in Art Direction & Advertising from the Istituto Europeo di Design in Barcelona, where she finished her studies after living Florence, Italy. In Florence, she explored her interests in jewelry design at Alchimia University. Realizing her true passion was in creating, she pursued a degree in fashion design at Parsons The New School. After graduating from Parsons, she interned with designer Rosie Assoulin, who became a major influence and inspiration, then briefly worked at Elie Tahari, before venturing out on her own.
SOÜF's handmade, cedar wood and leather bags are artisanally crafted. Each bag is finished with metal handles that feature natural, semi-precious stones such as black onyx, yellow jasper, and green malachite.
